What's new in God: My World

Every version of God: My World since it went live on 3 October 2026, newest first.

0.4.1 · 12 October 2026

  • The speed buttons, Pause, 1x and 5x, now fill their row evenly instead of standing apart with wide gaps.
  • When more news comes beside a breakthrough's banner, the notices no longer lie on top of one another: each takes a free place to one side.
  • No thin pale line between the drawing on a banner and its title.
  • Fireworks are heard in time with their shells: a thump as each is fired, a rising whistle as it climbs, then the burst and a crackle or a sizzle.
  • The choir and the strings in the music no longer drift up and down in pitch on long notes.

0.4.0 · 12 October 2026

  • Breakthroughs are celebrated. The world's first entry into a new age, a people's first airport or launch pad, and the first rocket get a larger banner, A BREAKTHROUGH FOR HUMANKIND, with fireworks over the town. It stays for over a minute unless you dismiss it, and other news no longer covers it.
  • Banners and every age's notice carry a drawing, in the colours of the people's flag: huts and an axe for the Bronze Age, a castle for the Middle Ages, a plane over the hills for the first flight.
  • A people behind the furthest age any people has reached now learns half again as fast, and needs less knowledge to catch up.
  • As a people's border grows, hamlets of homes spread over its land, not only a wider tint.
  • Lions and wolves now live on the herds around them at any speed, and grow and starve more slowly, so a new world no longer loses them in its second year. Grazing herds have fewer young as their land fills.
  • A crisper picture: ink outlines keep one width on the screen at any distance, and shadows are softer on a computer.
  • Winter snow thins out over the scrub at the desert's edge instead of stopping at a line.
  • The 20x speed has been taken out; 5x is now the fastest.
  • Towns near the edge of the table no longer build over its frame.

0.3.3 · 11 October 2026

  • People wade across streams to work, gather and hunt, and boats appear only on open water.
  • The nomads' camp moves again: every two years the riders may move to a free camp ground with better land.
  • Nomads who reach the Iron Age settle for good, and their camp becomes a town under the notice THE NOMADS SETTLE. From then on they farm, build and learn at the full pace, found colonies and can take breakthroughs.
  • Loading a saved world keeps all of each people, including its airport or launch pad, a farm or tank factory from Science, and its ruins.

0.3.2 · 10 October 2026

  • People no longer stand stuck at the water's edge, stepping back and forth until night. They set out only for places they can walk to, and give up on a way that gets them nowhere.

0.3.1 · 10 October 2026

  • A world grown thick with trees no longer freezes when it is sown or set on fire, and fires and sowing run more smoothly.
  • On a phone or tablet, two fingers swiped up or down together tilt the view during play, as they already did in the land editor.

0.3.0 · 10 October 2026

  • A land editor. Shape It, under Settings, lets you paint a new world before it begins, with mountains, rivers and lakes, desert and forest, and place its peoples, the nomads' camps and the herds. It works with a mouse, a finger or by pointing in VR, and has a short tour of its own.
  • Every people's name stands over its flag.
  • Faith comes back with the world's time, so at 5x it returns five times as fast.
  • No people begins a new world too small to last.
  • Water no longer shows straight bands of two colours, towns stand on level ground, and spring trees no longer look speckled.
  • Players can only meet in a room when they have the same version; a reload brings the newest.

0.2.0 · 9 October 2026

  • Play Together. Host a room under Settings and friends join your world by its four digits, each as a god in a robe of their own colour. The host chooses whether guests may release no powers, only the helping ones or all of them, and can change it while the room is open.
  • Talk in a room with the Mic and Voices buttons. Voices go straight between the players' devices, and the microphone is asked for only when you press Mic.
  • Two new powers. Revive (100 faith) brings back a kind of animal that has vanished from the world. Science (80 faith) gives a town a breakthrough: its next age within reach, flight or rockets sooner, a hydroponic farm or a tank factory.
  • Tanks go to war beside a people's soldiers, but only soldiers take a city, and no tank crosses water.
  • Each new world draws its own land, where its peoples live, which of them begin, its herds and its harvests.
  • Sow released again on a place keeps growing new trees until it is as thick as a forest, and empty clearings can be sown.
  • A short tour for first-time players, at a desk, on a phone and in VR. In VR the gesture guide has modelled hands and stays until you have released the power once.
  • The Modern Age has music of its own, with brass, trumpets and kettledrums, and its wind turbines turn.
  • Grazing animals breed faster than predators.

0.1.1 · 8 October 2026

  • A people or a herd about to vanish is warned of with a count of 90 seconds of world time. Help in time saves it and brings more of its kind: a blessing or rain for a people, Carry or a blessing for a herd.
  • Roads along the trade routes from the Middle Ages, paved in the Modern Age.
  • A red arrow arcs from a people at war to the one it attacks.
  • Territories, beside Look closer, shows every people's land and every herd's range, with flags and animal portraits.
  • A long press brings up a magnifier, close enough to make out people and animals.
  • A herd in the hand of the god has a halo and a shaft of light, and a notice says where to set it down.
  • On a phone, the powers button sits just above the browser's bar, a card over it shows the active power, and Settings opens in place of the tiles.
  • The choice of starting world (Classic, Harsh Land and Age of Iron) has been taken out.

0.1.0 · 3 October 2026

The first public version.

  • A living world on a table, with peoples that grow from the Stone Age to the Space Age, herds of wild animals, day and night, and four seasons in each year.
  • God powers paid for with faith, released with a click or a tap, or by hand gestures in VR, with prayers to answer and goals to reach.
  • Play in the browser on a computer or a phone, in VR on Meta Quest, and in AR with the world on a table in your own room.
  • Three starting worlds: Classic, Harsh Land and Age of Iron.
  • Three saved worlds and the previous world, and Share This World to send a world as a link.
  • Music that grows fuller as the peoples advance, up to the Space Age.
