About Bruna Worlds

Bruna Worlds makes small, complete games that you open like a web page. Each one plays in a browser on a computer or a phone, and opens into virtual reality and mixed reality on a Meta Quest headset. They are free, there is nothing to install, and there is no account to make.

Our games

  • Momiji Go is the board game Go, set in an autumn temple garden. You play Lord Tsukikage, a fox-masked opponent, at seven levels from Novice to Master, learn the rules in twelve short lessons, or play another person. It is in English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Korean.
  • God: My World is a god game on a living world the size of a table. Its peoples hunt, farm and build on their own, and climb from the Stone Age towards the stars, while you send rain, fire and blessings and answer their prayers. It is in English.

Each game has its own page here, where it plays in a frame, with how to play, its questions and answers, and guides that go further. Each game also lives at its own address, momijigo.bruna.world and god.bruna.world, where it keeps your saved games and can be installed as an app.

Why the games are web pages

A game that is a web page needs no store, no download and no update screen. One link opens it on a laptop, a phone and a headset alike, and the newest version arrives the next time the page loads. A friend can be playing a minute after you send them the address.

The same page becomes a VR game through WebXR, the web standard that lets a page draw to a headset and read its hands and controllers. On a Meta Quest, open a game in the Meta Quest Browser and press Enter VR; on a Quest 3, Enter AR sets the game in your own room. Our Meta Quest guide explains each step.

How the games are made

  • Built for the headset first. The games are written in TypeScript with Three.js and Meta's Immersive Web SDK, and their frame rate is measured on a Meta Quest 3, where a dropped frame is felt rather than seen. A desktop browser then gets the same game with mouse, keyboard and touch controls.
  • Modelled by hand. The scenery, the characters and the props are modelled in Blender, and drawn with ink outlines and soft light.
  • Everything on your device. Lord Tsukikage thinks on your own device, at every level, and the peoples of God: My World live there too. Nothing waits on a server, which is also why Momiji Go keeps playing offline once it has been opened online.
  • Music made as you play. Momiji Go's music is composed in the browser as you play, rather than played from recordings.

How the games stay free

There is nothing to buy in either game. The pages of this site, around the games, are built to carry advertising from Google AdSense: beside and below a game, never over it. The games themselves show no ads and load no advertising code, in their frames or at their own addresses.

Your information

You never make an account with us, and we never ask for your name or e-mail address. Saved games and settings stay in your browser, on your device. When you play another person, the moves, and in God: My World the voices, go from one device to the other, encrypted, and not through a server of ours; public relays only help the two devices find each other. We count visits to these pages with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and identifies no one. The Privacy Policy says all of this in full, and each game has its own policy at its own address.

Languages

This site is written in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Korean. Choose a language from the menu at the top of any page, and the site remembers it. Momiji Go is played in all five; God: My World is in English for now.

Who we are

Bruna Worlds is run by BRUNA GOODS LLC, a company in the United States. Every game on the site is designed, built and tested by us. What changes from one version to the next is listed on each game's updates page: Momiji Go and God: My World.

Contact

Questions, bug reports and ideas are welcome at support@bruna.world. If something does not work, tell us which game, which device and browser (for example "Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Browser" or "iPhone, Safari"), and what you did just before it happened. A screenshot helps.
